What is PGCET Exam :-

Conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority, Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) is a state level entrance exam. The exam is a gateway for admissions to MBA programs. Karnataka PGCET MBA is conducted in paper-pencil mode and is scheduled for 2 hours.The Karnataka post graduate common entrance test or K PGCET is conducted for full-time and part – time master’s degree. The K PGCET is managed by the Karnataka Examination Authority. The candidates who have passed for recognized bachelor’s degree for three years or equivalent are eligible to apply. PGCET 2017 Eligibility Criteria:-

The eligibility criteria for PGCET Full-time MBA 2017 is as follows:

  • The candidate must have secured a recognized bachelor’s degree (3 years minimum duration) or should have passed an equivalent examination
  • During all the years of Degree Examination, the candidate must have attained an aggregate of 50% marks or more in all the subjects
  • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Category-I of Karnataka should have attained 45% marks in the qualifying examination

 The eligibility criteria for PGCET part-time MBA 2017 is as follows:

  • The candidate should hold a recognised Bachelor’s Degree. The duration of the program should be 3 years/ candidate should have appeared for an equivalent examination
  • The candidate should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks or more (taking into consideration all the subjects) in all the years of the Degree examination – this percentage is 45% in case of SC, ST and Category-I for Karnataka candidates
  • Apart from obtaining the degree, the candidate should hold work experience of not less than 3 years as on July 31, 2017

 The eligibility criteria for PGCET MBA 2017 Government Seats for Karnataka State candidates is as follows:

  • The candidate must have studied and passed in one or more Government or Government recognized educational institutions located in Karnataka. The total number of academic years should be 7, starting from standard 1 to Qualifying Examination as on July 1 (the year in which the Entrance Test is held). Also, the candidate should have passed either SSLC / standard 10th or 2nd PUC / standard 12th examination – the institute must be Government recognized and should be located in Karnataka

Application procedure for PGCET 2017:-

Step 1- Registration

  • Candidates will have to register themselves for the entrance exam
  • To fill the Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 application form, click on the link  (Link will be updated as soon as it is released)
  • For successful registration, applicants have to fill their personal details such as, applicant’s name, DOB, gender, email id,  parent’s name, user id and password. After which candidates have to select their preferred course and enter their contact number number along with a secret question and answer to it
  • After successfully registering for the entrance exam,  a unique application number will be generated
  • Now candidates can login with the unique application number

Step 2- Filling the Karnataka PGCET MBA application form 2017

  • Personal details of applicant
  • Candidates then have to select a preferred test centre
  • Test takers also have to fill in academic details like marks obtained, year of passing, name of istitute and more
  • GATE 2017 score incase the candidate has appeared for the exam
  • Postal adress of a candidate

  •  Candidate has to scan the images of their photograph, signature and left thumb impression to be uploaded. Uploaded blurred images will not be accepted by conducting authority. All images has to be as per the dimensions mentioned above.

 Step 4 – Submission of the Online Application Form

  •  Once test takers have completed the online form with the necessary document, they must review it before agreeing to the terms declared in the Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 application form and submit it. After submission, no changes in the application form can be made.

 Step 5  Payment of Application Fees

  •  Payment of the application fees can be done in two ways– online and offline. Candidates can pay the required fees through online mode i.e., net banking/ debit card/ credit card or through offline mode i.e., by cash at any branch of State Bank of Mysore. Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 application forms submitted without application fee will not be accepted. The payment status can be checked by candidates after the transaction is complete.

Step 6 – Print out of Filled Application Form of Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017

  •  Print out of the filled Karnataka PGCET MBA 2017 application form and keep it for future use. Atleast 2 copies of the application form should remain with the candidates.

PGCET Exam Reservation Details :-

According to Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation, 70% of the available seats in every field of study in any regional University or educational institution located in the local area are reserved in favor of the local persons, in respect of such University or education institution. The Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation of Seats is given below: -

  • 8% of the available seats in every course of study provided in a state-wise University or a state wide educational institution are allocated among the local candidates of the Hyderabad-Karnataka Region under Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation Policy
  • The interse merit determined under Rule - 6 remains the same for the purpose of Karnataka PGCET 2017 Eligibility and benefit of Karnataka PGCET Reservation
  • PGCET 2017 Reservation for Ex-Defense Special Category
  • PGCET 2017 Reservation for Physically Disabled Special category
  • The PWD applicants have 3% seats reserved under the Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation policy
  • PGCET 2017Reservation for Karnataka Candidates
  • Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation is made in favor of candidates who belong to the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST) and other backward class (OBC) of citizens under categories 1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B in accordance with Government Order No. SWL 251 BCA 94 dated 31st January, 1995. The Karnataka PGCET 2017 Reservation for Karnataka Candidates is given below:
  • It is mandatory for a candidate to produce a ‘Caste Certificate or Caste Income Certificate’ that is issued by the concerned Jurisdictional Tahsildar in accordance with the Government Order No. Sa Ka E 225 BCA 2002 dated March 30, 2002, as amended from time to time  
  • The SC, ST and Category-1 candidates are exempted from payment of tuition fees, if their annual income is less than INR 2.5 lakhs
  • Relevant government orders must be read by a candidate for details
  • The candidates belonging to other backward class have to pay the fees to CET
  • Such candidates can apply for re-imbursement from the Backward Class Department after admission to the concerned colleges
  • Relevant government orders must be read by such applicant for details
  • Provided that candidates belonging to SC, ST and Category - I have to produce an Income certificate that is issued by Jurisdictional Tahsildar in the prescribed format
  • The income certificate is produced for the purpose of processing eligibility of candidates to claim Government of India scholarship

PGCET  Registration Process 2017:-

Karnataka State Government will announce the notification of Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) 2017 for taking admissions into Post Graduate courses like MCA, M.Tech, MBA etc into various colleges based on the ranks. Candidates who are interested and eligible to want to study for higher education through Karnataka PGCET 2017, those candidates can apply online through its official website. This Post Graduate Entrance Exam is generally conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority for admissions in the state of Karnataka. Candidates want to know more information about Karnataka PGCET 2017 eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam dates, exam pattern etc through its official notification or website.
