What is CMAT Entrance Exam 2018

Conducted by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), CMAT (Common management aptitude test) is the national level MBA competition for admission in various business schools in India. The test is conducted by the directions of ministry of human resource development, Government of India.  Test is generally scheduled on last week of January.

Important Dates for CMAT 2018

CMAT entrance exam dates for academic year 2018 has not been scheduled yet, however every year test is conducted in the last week of January. The registration Starts in the month of November and closes on last week of December. Tentative date of CMAT for academic year 2018 are mentioned below.

CMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for CMAT 2018 is quite basic. Minimum 3 years of formal graduation with at least 50% marks. Candidates in the final year can also apply provided that they finish their graduation before the commencement of the program. There is no age limit, but candidate must be a citizen of India.

Graduates in any discipline can apply for CMAT exam.


Final year students of Graduate Courses (10+2+3) whose result will be declared before commencement of admission for academic year 2017-18 can also apply for CMAT online exam.

CMAT Exam 2018 Application Process

CMAT is conducted by AICTE for admission in various business schools pan India. Application process for CMAT exam starts with the registration of the application. The dates for CMAT 2018 are not declared yet. However every year the registration starts on the month of November and closes on last week of December. The exam is generally conducted in the last week of January. 

The CMAT Application Form 2018 will be available via online mode through the website.

CMAT registration will be started from the second week of October 2017.

To fill the application, candidates have to read the instructions and register themselves.

Make the fee payment using online or offline mode.

After fee payment, fill the remaining details in the application form.

Candidates are needed to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed format.

Check carefully before submitting the application form.

Candidates are advised to take printout of the application for further use.

CMAT Exam Fees 2018

Fees for the application for general and OBC category is INR 1400 and for SC/ST/PWD candidates is INR 700. Payment for the fees can be done online via payment gateway or by challan sheet submitting in SBI bank.

CMAT is conducted by AICTE. AICTE does not provide any reservation for the appearing candidates, however 50% of application fees concession is given to the candidates from SC/ST/PWD category. Reservation would be provided to the candidates from the backward category according to norms of the participating colleges.

All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), which conducts the CMAT 2018 does not provide any information or disclosure on the reservation of seats for various categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC).
There is also no official announcement made by AICTE on the reservation of seats for CMAT 2018 for Physically Handicapped (PH) category, Kashmiri Migrant (KM) category, the girl child category and Defence Persons category.
Every participating institute has different guidelines according to category and the directions of their corresponding State Government.
The reservation of seats or allocation of seats under these categories also depends whether the participating institute in that particular state is a Private unaided Institute or a Government- financed institute.
The reservation of seats for OBC candidates through CMAT 2018 will also depend on creamy and non- creamy layer, whichever category the OBC candidate falls into.
