CAT vs GMAT-Whats The Right MBA Enterance Test For You

CAT vs GMAT - What's The Right MBA Admission Test For YouAlmost every MBA aspirant in India is aware that CAT is a prime requisite for admission in Indian colleges. If want to pursue MBA from abroad, you need to get a high score in GMA because foreign universities don’t consider CAT score. Here are a few differences between both the admission tests. MoneyMoney is undoubtedly the factor to consider while choosing the exam. Presuming that not every candidate is capable of getting a scholarship in a foreign university, the fees of studying will pay a crucial role. If you have adequate funds of more than 30-40 lakhs only then consider taking up GMAT. If you’re still tight on budget, take up a loan to pursue studies abroad. Institute in India vs Institute AboardThe Indian IIMs are the leading institute in India and if you have managed to crack CAT, you should not give a second though about GMAT. If you gain admission in one of the top foreign universities, arguably the exposure would be a lifetime experience. Pursuing MBA from a global business school will give you an edge over the global job market. However, an MBA from a low grade foreign university is equivalent to MBA from an Indian institute. Characteristics of the examCAT can only be taken once a year, whereas you can take GMAT up to five times a year. GMAT scores are available soon after the exam is over whereas you have to wait for the CAT exam results. If you’re not confident of cracking an MBA exam in a single shot, you can consider GMAT. Weigh your options before taking a decision. demo

Choosing the Right Questions in the CAT ExamYou cannot deny the fact that the efforts you put in for the preparation for the CAT exam can be really tiring and strenuous. It is also possible that you work really very hard but cannot generate the proper or satisfactory results. To attain the precise result, you would have to take note of some points. Usually, the reason behind your failure can be the bad choice of questions. To know how good your choice is, follow these steps:Ask Yourself-There are some of the questions that you must ask yourself, like how many questions you have attempted that you shouldn’t have or how many questions you have left that you could have attempted? The answers to these questions will tell you how much time you have invested in solving the questions that you shouldn’t have attempted at the first go. Preparing a Table-You can prepare a table and add columns that will indicate how many questions you have attempted in a right way and how many questions were wrong. And, also add the time span that you have invested in solving these questions. Strengths & Weaknesses-Knowing what your weaknesses and strengths are will help you in correcting the right set of questions to a certain extent. When you know that you can master a particular subject, you must attempt all the questions in that section. But, if you are not sure about a particular section, then don’t invest much time in that section. Just by being a bit cautious and by putting a bit of effort, you can master CAT examinations very easily. All you have to do is work hard. demo

4 Rules to Excel in QA section

  Updated on : 07/03/2017

 by : Admin

The QA section in the CAT exam is dreaded by students because of conceptually driven difficult questions. Rarely, a direct question is asked, yielding in a low number of attempts. While attempting questions in the mock tests, students end up solving difficult questions, which only consume their time, but also attracts negative marking. Here are a few rules to excel in the QA section.Rule 1: The CAT paper is not the place to carry out R&D, hence attempt only those questions that you’re familiar with. R&D has to be done at home and during the main exam. Scan the question paper to search for similar questions.Rule 2: Answer questions from your area of the interest or topics that you’re extremely comfortable with. If you strong in probability, attempt that question first. However, if the question is lengthy, you can consider leaving it for the end. Never spend more than 90 seconds on any question.Rule 3 : Avoid questions related to geometry and permutation & combination because usually, this section is tricky and confusing. Consider attempting these questions only when you have previously solved a similar problem. Furthermore, solve questions related to maxima and minima using differentiation and such problems are usually easier to crack.Rule 4: Focus on the choices to understand the amount of calculation required to solve a given problem. Avoid answering calculation intensive questions as you end up wasting a lot of precious time. All the best for your preparation and exam!demo

More than understanding the reading passage, it’s essential to understand what the question setter is thinking. Cracking the RC passage of the CAT exam is like winning a war. And, to make it more challenging the examiner is going to lay traps for the candidate. Scoring high marks in the RC passage is difficult, but with these tips, you can overcome the traps and increase your score. Never skim the passages Breezing through the passages will not help you unless you ar4e familiar with the message of the topic. An essay may seem easy when you skim it, but it’s actually a trap. You can never answer the questions unless you’ve read the passage completely. Therefore, don’t be a lazy bum in the exam and read it with interest to understand what the passage says. Eliminate the choices If you select the best option, you can never answer any question correctly. And, in most cases, elimination of choices work better than selecting the right choice. Eliminate options that are too narrow or wide to comprehend. Based on your understanding of the passage eliminate the three choices. It will help you choose the correct option. Never assume information Many questions force you to make an assumption, but you need to understand that assumptions will only lead to a wrong understanding of the answer choices. Answer questions with what is given in the RC passage.demo
